Admission to the Veterinary Proper Curriculum

Students from UP Units

  1. Students from UP Diliman, UP Los Baños, UP Manila, UP Visayas and UP Mindanao who have taken the General Education (GE) Program of the Veterinary Curriculum may be admitted if their General Weighted Average (GWA) is “3.0” or better and if their deficiency is not more than 6 units.
  2. Transfer students from other units of the UP System may be admitted if their GWA is “2.5” or better and their deficiency in the CVM GE Program is not more than 12 units.

Transfer Students from Other Universities

Transfer students from other recognized universities may be admitted if their GWA is “2.0” or better and their deficiency is not more than 12 units.

 

Admission of Applicants with Baccalaureate Degrees

Applicants who have earned baccalaureate degrees within five years prior to their application may be admitted provided they meet the following requirements:

  1. a GWA of “2.75” or better in an allied field or “2.5” or better in a non-allied field from UP.
  2. a GWA of “2.5” or better in an allied field or “2.0” or better in a non-allied field from other universities.
  3. a deficiency of not more than 18 units in the CVM GE Program.

 

Other Applicants

Applicants who do not fall in any of the preceding categories are required to take the CVMAT, provided they have no more than 18 units deficiency in the CVMGE Program. Students scoring in the upper 50 Percentile Rank of the CVMAT will automatically be admitted; while those in the lower 50 Percentile Rank may be admitted on a Probationary Basis subject to the following conditions:

  1. they must register at least 15 units/semester;
  2. they must earn at least 24 units in two consecutive semesters from the time of Probationary Admission;

Failure to comply with both conditions (a and b) will ban the students from further enrollment. All other University rules on scholastic deficiency will be applied (University Code Articles 389, 390, 391 and 392).
